About the Event:
U.S. Rehab’s LIVE Tech Training provides two full days of hands-on manufacturer trainer-led workshops with Ki Mobility, MK Battery, Merits/Avid, Motion Concepts, Permobil/TiLite, and Sunrise Medical, plus a documentation workshop with Dan Fedor. Two experience-based training tracks are offered.
BONUS: Each qualifying participant will receive a certificate that meets DMEPOS Quality Standards for audit purposes—boosting both compliance and professional standing.
DOUBLE BONUS: Bring a Biller! To ensure everyone is on the same page with repair policy and documentation requirements, maximizing reimbursement for repairs, a tech may "Bring a Biller" to participate in Dan Fedor’s Don’t Lose Your Shirt on DME Repairs session—FREE! This session is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 8:00am-9:30am CT. The biller may attend in-person or virtually. Registration for this opportunity must be completed as part of the technician registration. In-person participation is limited to one biller per tech registration to ensure seating. A TEAMS log in link will be provided to the virtual participant.
NOTE: Notification of any time adjustment for Dan Fedor's Don’t Lose Your Shirt on DME Repairs session will be provided via the biller’s email on record.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the tools that a wheelchair technician needs to rapidly correctly diagnose and perform repairs on manual and power wheelchairs.
- Explain the operation of the major electrical components used in wheelchair controllers.
- Demonstrate the procedures necessary to trouble shoot electrical issues with wheelchair electronics.
- Select and inspect batteries for the DME industry.
- Learn how to properly document the repair to maximize reimbursement.
Certification Qualifications:
- Sign in a the start of each training day.
- Attend at least 90% of the training event.
- Complete and submit an Event Evaluation.
